We Admit It!  We LOVE the Ampersandbox.  It’s part spaceship, part viewbook, part interactive ethos.  Just a few weeks ago we debuted Ampersandbox 2.0 and we’re finding that you love it too.  From Facebook to Twitter to the official Ampersandbox website, current students, prospective students, faculty/staff and alumni alike are telling the world why they love the ampersandbox (#ampersandbox for those of you following at home on Twitter).

Last year, we ditched the traditional approach to a viewbook (normally an 8.5×11 glossy brochure advertising a university) in favor of something different, something that would make an impact, something that showcased the best of W&M.  After a year, we arrived at the ampersandbox; a print-web integration of colloquial word pairs designed to engage prospective students and help them learn more about our campus.  From Naked & Friendly to Majors & Minors, these 27 postcard-size tidbits of information are available online and in your mailbox (if you’re a senior on our mailing list).  Collect all 27 cards by adding yourself to our mailing list and by visiting campus.

We didn’t create the Ampersandbox for Fame & Fortune (although admittedly it’s brought us some of the former, not so much the latter), although we appreciate the awards and accolades.  We didn’t create it for Fun & Games (although admittedly we really enjoy working on the project), it’s a really substance piece that captures the heart of our campus.  We created it for You & Yours (admittedly we hope it convinces you to apply to W&M) to read, to digest, to learn from.  Once you’ve done that feel free to share your thoughts about yourself and/or W&M online through the ampersandbox website.
